A memory can last a lifetime and you can help create that one special, never to be forgotten day, in the life of a disadvantaged young person and their family.

‘Creating Happy Memories’ is our very first fundraising campaign to enable us to carry on with a very special aspect of our work of ‘Supporting families, Changing Lives, Building futures’ that is to specifically support young people with disabilities and their families.

The need

With over 10,000 enquiries last year, we know that helping children, starts with helping their family. So we work tirelessly to enhance and enrich the lives of all families, young people and those who have children with disabilities; by putting on events, providing counseling and promoting family inclusion into the community, resulting in an overwhelming positive impact for every family member we reach.

‘Creating Happy Memories’

Our most popular project growing at a phenomenal rate is Great Opportunities now known as GO! GO! Provides exciting events and leisure opportunities for children and young people with additional needs, ‘Creating Happy Memories’ that will stay with them forever. These events give children with disabilities a unique opportunity to engage in an exciting activity, in supportive and fun environments, and best of all the whole family can join in, creating a fantastic time together.

For some families even simple childhood moments such as going out to a swimming pool or visiting a pantomime together seem almost impossible – but with your help we can make it happen.

Family Resource Centre UK run GO! events and projects to help families and children, but the demand for these activities far outstrips our financial ability to extend this valuable work, not just to serve the families and children we already support, but to expand our work so even more families can have the opportunity to get involved!
We need your support to help us reach more areas, and expand our work.

You can make a difference to these families and young people by supporting GO!:

• £10 pays for a disabled child to attend two GO! events
• £20 could help provide vital equipment to enable a child to become involved in more inclusive activities
• £30 could pay for the hire of a venue for a GO! event
• £150 could pay for a special event such as a pantomime trip for several families
• £685 would pay for entire GO! Event for children with additional needs and their families, creating happy memories for up to 30 children and their families
