Our vision
Family Resource Centre UK’s vision is that all families and those with disabled children can be empowered to improve their lives and reach their fullest potential by receiving the best services and by getting involved in events and projects which can enhance every day life.
Family Resource Centre UK’s mission and purpose is to break down social barriers, empower families and whole communities to reach their fullest potential by meeting their needs, and giving people the opportunity and tools to flourish. We aim to make a better world for families and children.
Services Provided:
GO! Great Opportunities
GO! Great Opportunities is a successful project that provides events and leisure opportunities for children and young people with special needs, creating lasting happy childhood memories for all children, no matter what their disability!
GO! provides a number of one-off activity days such as ice skating, horse riding, cinema trips, magic shows, Christmas pantomime, falconry and much more.
Through participation in these activities, the children and young people will have the chance to make new friends, increase their independence and improve their confidence, all while having fun!
DISC – Disability Information Scheme
We have developed DISC, the Disability Information Scheme, providing families with children who have special needs with vital information about services available to them.
Our specialist information officers are also working in the community meeting families face-to-face and providing them with one-to-one support.
